personal- battle with depression, individuality, independence, etc.

partnership- parent to a child.. marriage(day2day basis up to the grandeur compromises, friendship, business, etc)

group- battle for any type of discrimination, political, religious debates... etc.

We all fundamentally live and die alone. Neither of those are battles to be won - merely experienced. But in between, ''battles'' are won most readily by the co-ordinated action of a group (of critical mass), usually lead by a partnership, inspired by individual/s. Without the inspiration of individuals group action would not be initiated and organised. Without group co-operation the human species would probably not have survived - and certainly wouldn't have prospered. (Competition's a psychopathology, I reckon)
