Has anyone notice the different spirit in people these days; in the music and movies?

Everything is too hard, or dead in spirit and passion these days. Take the movie Rocky, which is a movie about the triumph of the spirit, and the passion of the theme. A lot of the media, and music was very masculine in nature also, and very passionate, and a sense of heroism. If you think about most of the heros we see today even, there is always something dark about them, like Hell Boy, or Spawn. I mean, listen to this video from Rocky IV.

There was just so much more passion, and a sense of light that still shined through our culture. It seems like we are in perpetual dark times for quite some time now. Just listen to the theme of the Rocky song, and most of the 80's music like it, vs Rap, and the grungy, dark metal of the late 90's and now. So different. Hopeless sounding shyt; I think it goes with our culture.

i see exactly what you mean, i do. the movies now, the rap culture, the horror films, the extreme gore, violent video games. i thought it was just me who saw, but i see exactly what you see and its disturbing, im not keen on these modern times and approaches, how everybody just seems to have become desensitized to the corruption, gore, violence, porn...honestly i think its sickening. so dude, i see what your saying and im with you in ' spirit ' on this one.
